The Writing Center at UNCSA

A message from the Director of the Writing Center:

Welcome to the UNCSA Writing Center. We are a free tutoring service for all enrolled UNCSA students. Our goal is to help you with the writing process – from brainstorming to the final product, we are here to help.

What we do:

• Free one-on–one tutoring sessions: tutoring sessions last between 15 – 45 minutes.
• Provide assistance in all stages of the writing process, from brainstorming your ideas to the finished product.
• Work with students to help them become better writers by assessing areas of weakness and providing strategies to strengthen these areas.
• The writing center is staffed by the Director and volunteer faculty. We also hire a few high caliber peer tutors each year.

The Writing Center primarily operates on an appointment only schedule. To make an appointment please contact klaimone@ncarts.edu. 

The Writing Center  is also open a limited number of drop-by hours each term by term. An updated schedule is posted outside the Center, room 210 Gray Building. Please keep in mind that seeing a tutor during drop-by hours is on a first come, first serve basis. Therefore, we highly recommend that you make an appointment ahead of time.
